What Makes For a Good Financial Professional?

As I was making a few changes to a website, I found myself thinking about what it actually takes to be a good financial professional. I started considering the importance of age, education, experience, and certifications first. I personally believe that age has nothing to do with one’s qualifications, and certifications generally apply to a specific area. Educational background and experience certainly are up on the list of important things to consider. Then I started thinking about all of the horror stories I have heard throughout my career and realized that it is the intangibles that truly make someone stand out from the rest. (more…)

Although this is a simple enough problem, the answer may be far from simple. A number of security companies dealing in the e-commerce, told recently in press conferences that card information for both credit and debit cards is vulnerable but that they are putting massive amounts of time and money into rectifying this. It’s no secret that the economy is struggling. Unemployment is hitting record highs and so is inflation. Manufacturers and Factories are jumping ship, looking for cheaper labor. Airlines are laying people off by the tens of thousands, and car makers are sure to be next as record lows are being seen across the board. Unemployment for the U.S. is sitting at 5.7%, 51,000 jobs lost in July alone and 463,000 since January. Pretty scary numbers from where I’m sitting. (more…)
